Creator Referral Program Terms
PENDING_COUNSEL_ATTESTATION — draft program terms. External counsel review plus durable version/URL/hash attestation is required before creator referrals or payouts can be represented as production-ready.
Attribution and conversion
For the canonical v6 program, a qualified creator referral may be tracked for up to 30 days before a net-new viewer signs up. Attribution locks at signup under the canonical first-qualified-touch rule: the first valid creator acquisition touch is retained and later creator visits do not replace it. New v6 attribution is not created for an existing Free or previously paid account. The referred viewer's first actually successful paid Viewer payment must occur within 90 days after signup; trials, failed invoices and zero-cash credit-only invoices do not start the commission term.
Commission rate and term
Creator compensation is acquisition commission, not engagement revenue sharing. The current default policy is Canonical v6 — signup attribution, 25% Eligible Net, 90d conversion, 365d term (version creator-referral-v6-signup-25pct-90d-conversion-365d-term): 25% of Eligible Net Subscription Revenue.
The v6 commission term begins with the qualified first successful paid payment and ends after at most 365 days. Monthly-first acquisition can commission no more than 12 actually paid monthly-equivalent service periods; unpaid months create no commission and no catch-up entitlement. Each attribution stores its immutable policy version, so later default changes do not retroactively re-rate historical acquisition.
Annual and plan-change rules
If the first successful paid Viewer payment is annual, v6 pays 25% of Eligible Net from that first annual payment once; the annual commission eligibility is consumed by that qualifying annual conversion, annual renewal pays no additional acquisition commission, and later monthly payments do not restart it. A refund reverses the commission supported by that annual payment but does not recreate annual eligibility or open a fresh referral conversion window. If acquisition starts monthly and changes to annual within the first year, only the annual service time that remains inside the original 365-day term and has not already been represented by commissioned monthly service periods is commissionable. The allocation uses persisted Stripe invoice-line service periods, not guessed calendar months.
Monthly Plus↔Power changes and Stripe prorations do not create an extra paid-period count merely because a plan changed. Additional Eligible Net actually collected for the same service period can be commissionable without incrementing the period counter. Credits attributable to already commissioned service are recorded as append-only financial evidence and proportionally reduce the related commission.
Eligible Net basis
Eligible Net Subscription Revenue is the commissionable Viewer subscription base actually supported by Stripe financial evidence, less attributable taxes, refunds/reversals, payment-processing fees, Stripe Billing fees, marketplace/intermediary fees and FX fees. Coupons, promotion codes, customer-balance credits and prorations are reflected through authoritative invoice/payment evidence. Commission stays CALCULATING/UNRECONCILED until the required financial evidence is reconciled; an unreconciled gross amount is not earned or payable commission.
Refunds and chargebacks
Partial or full refunds, lost disputes and chargebacks proportionally reduce or reverse commission through append-only adjustments. For a qualifying annual conversion, the refund reverses commission but the already-consumed annual eligibility remains consumed; the refund does not create a new 90-day conversion opportunity or a fresh annual commission entitlement. A won dispute can reinstate only the amount supported by Stripe evidence. Before transfer, reversals reduce local earned/available balances; after transfer they can require transfer reversal and/or create a negative creator balance that offsets future availability. Historical ledger rows are not rewritten.
Payout threshold, KYC and negative balances
The launch transfer threshold is €10 available balance and Tuesday is the default weekly operational batch day. Availability requires current accepted terms, completed Stripe Connect onboarding/KYC and required capabilities, no unresolved risk block, and no outstanding negative balance. Negative balances are recovered from future creator availability where legally and operationally permitted.
Fraud and self-referral; Termination
Self-referrals are ineligible and suspected fraud or abuse can block commission availability and payouts while reviewed. The operator may disable new referral acquisition or block payouts for program/risk reasons, but financial history is not silently rewritten. Final counsel-attested terms must define termination notice, accrued-but-unpaid treatment and surviving obligations before production launch.
